Rikardo Benasi (Rođen 1982. u Kremoni, živi i radi u Berlinu)

Riccardo Benassi (Born 1982 in Cremona, lives and works in Berlin)

Benassi has been a part of the culture initiative Xing, co-founder of the audio collective project Phonorama and the techno-noise duo Olyvetty. His research fluxuates between sound and visual art, with a particular interest in architecture and writing as methods to travel in time and space. Riccardo Benassi is in the never-ending process of analyzing collective life in the city, as a cosmopolitan who sees city life as something we make and re-make, and that leads him to consider architecture from the inside out. He finds that air conditioning modifies our concept of architecture just as sound modifies our concept of visual arts, both invisible and underestimated.

Benassi’s work has been shown internationally and is held in public and private collections. Select shows: Mumble Mumble, Galleria Raffaella Cortese – Milano, 2007; Focus on Contemporary Italian Art, MAMbo – Bologna, 2008; Autostrada Verticale, PAC – Ferrara, 2009; 10ms Perspective on Microsound, Diapason Gallery – New York, 2009; The Jerusalem Syndrome / Sound Project, Al-Ma’mal Foundation – Jerusalem, 2009; Elusive, Radio Arte Mobile, Roma, 2010; MACRO – Museum for contemporary art, Roma, 2010.
