Land and Blood, 2002-2010

The way in which a nation is defined, either as a people or as a land, has been a major source of nationalist conflict throughout the world over the past few hundred years. To cure this problem, states have generally accepted definitions that use both blood (jus sanguinis) and soil (jus soil) in their constitutions.
